Privacy Policy
Last updated June 21, 2026
Swimfo is a free application for running and following swim meets. This policy explains, in plain language, what information Swimfo handles and why. Swimfo is currently a free tool operated by its developer and is not a commercial business.
What we store
We deliberately keep this minimal:
- Swimmers: first and last name, the team they swim for, and the events they are entered in. This information comes from the heat sheets that coaches and meet organizers upload (typically exported from meet-management software).
- Account holders (coaches, parents, clerks, organizers): name, email address, and a securely hashed password. Parents may link themselves to their swimmers.
- Notifications: if you enable alerts, your device's push-notification subscription so we can tell you when a swimmer is up.
We do not collect payment information (Swimfo is free), and we do not sell or rent anyone's information to anyone.
Public meet pages
Meets can have a public, no-login page so spectators can follow along. On these public pages, swimmer names are shown as first name + last initial (e.g. “Jordan M.”) — never full last names, ages, or contact details.
Children's information
Swim teams include minors. The swimmer information in Swimfo (name, team, events) is provided by the teams and leagues that run the meets — it is not collected directly from children. If you are a parent or guardian and want a swimmer's information removed, contact us and we will remove it.
How information is used
Solely to run the meet experience: build heat sheets, run the clerk-of-course, show live results, and send the alerts you opt into. That's it.
Your choices
- You can turn notifications off at any time.
- You can ask us to delete your account or a swimmer's information.
